KILIMS

The kilims we have are made by a variety of tribes from Maliki, Caucasian, Shirazi, Baluchi to Afghani. Each has its own style and material and the sizes range from 3’x5′ to 10’x14′.

A magnificent ‘Dragon Soumak’ from the Karabagh region in central-Asia. It has four dragons with a medallion in the centre. 

Size: 7’x10′

Wool-Wool

A Soumak kilim made by tribals around Shiraz, Iran. It has a large central medallion with two smaller medallions attached to it on an off-white field. Small flowers and animals are spread through it.

An old Turkman kilim with a diamond-shaped Gul motif used by the Tekke tribe.

A Kumik Soumak from Daghestan region with the ‘dum’ pattern. It is a multi-medallion rug covering the entire field of the rug.

An old Baluchi kilim. It has a single multi-stepped medallion that occupies most of the centre of the rug. The animal head motif is placed inside the medallion.

A traditional Afghani kilim made by the tribes in the region. It consists of small Guls arranged both horizontally and vertically to form the design of the rug.

A Berjesta kilim, having both a pile and flat weave structure. It consists of small Guls running through the field and border.

A beautiful Baluchi kilim made by the nomads in the area, it is the tribal imitation of the city based floral rugs.

Wool-Cotton

An Afghan Malaki kilim from the Herat region. It consists of small motifs that are repeated at the centre of the rug. It has multiple thin borders that cover a significant part of the rug.
